Service Disruption on Kelana Jaya Line LRT Print

Petaling Jaya, 30 July 2010: LRT services on the Kelana Jaya Line (KLJ) experienced two service disruptions the past two days.

On 29 July at 6.14pm, a short circuit was detected at the power rail system inside the tunnel near Kampung Baru Station. For safety reasons, the power has to be shut down to enable repair works to be carried out.

As a result of this, shuttle train service was implemented between Damai and Pasar Seni. However, train services between Kelana Jaya and Pasar Seni, and between Damai and Gombak, operated as normal. Train service resumed to normal at 8.26pm.

The disruption which had occurred this morning at 8.16am was due to a failed train between Masjid Jamek and Pasar Seni. The train had to be ‘towed’ to Pasar Seni station and as a result of this, all the other trains had to run at slower speed and longer dwell time at platforms. Service resumed to normal at 8.48am.

Throughout the two disruptions, passengers were notified and updated through stations and train announcements, platform electronic displays and twitter@myRapidKL.

Prasarana regrets any inconvenience caused.
