| Q: |
Why have you stopped issuing manual tickets for SEMUA & SEPADU Tickets? |
| A: |
RapidKL is in the process of implementing a paperless ticketing system both on the buses and rail. The TnG has been used for the rail for a few years. On 1 November 2007, we implemented the use of the TnG card as an alternative payment on the buses.
As at 1 March, we have discontinued the issuing of manual tickets for SEMUA and SEPADU only. The switch is in line with our commitment to protecting the environment and to providing a service that is more efficient.
With the use of the TnG, passengers:
- can cut back the time spent queuing up to purchase the ticket
- need not worry about having the correct amount in cash

| Q: |
How does the system work? |
| A: |
For the rail – The reader will detect the station you enter and the station you exit. The fare will be deducted accordingly.
For the bus – The reader will deduct the fare when you touch your card on the reader. The card will be able to detect your pattern of travel and deduct the correct amount from your card.
The fare deducted, which depends on the travel pattern, will be:
- SEMUA Fare of RM4 – if three (3) types of bus service is used (Tempatan+Utama+Bandar)
- SEPADU Fare of RM7 – if four (4) types of bus service is used (Tempatan+Utama+Bandar+Ekspres)
- SEPADU Fare of RM7 or per service fare, whichever is lower – if the bus service (Tempatan+Utama+Bandar+Ekspres) and the LRT service is used.
- Per service/per day basis -If only one or two types of single bus service is used (Tempatan+Utama+Bandar)

| Q: |
We are also aware that you have discontinued the RM40 Bus Concession Monthly Travel Card? Why? |
| A: |
The Monthly Travel Card (MTC) is a discounted product that is priced below the daily fare. As such it is no longer economically prudent for the company to give a further discount with the Concession MTC.
However, to enable all those qualified for the concession rate to continue to enjoy this privilege; we are continuing to have the concession discount on the daily fare purchased on the day of travel. |
